Top 10 Finalist for the Chegg.org Global Student Prize: Alanna Sethi

Alanna Sethi (2020), a undergraduate psychology student at the University of Toronto, Canada, and has been named a top 10 finalist for the Chegg.org Global Student Prize 2024, an annual $50,000 award to be given to one exceptional student that has made a real impact on learning, the lives of their peers and on society beyond. This is an incredible achievement given that Alanna was selected from over 11,000 nominations and applications from 176 countries.

As a young person with mental health conditions, Alanna Sethi, 21, is incredibly passionate about early intervention and prevention to reduce the distress and impact mental health can have on young people's lives and help them instead flourish. Alanna is CEO and founder of HOPE (Helping Our Planet Earth), a youth-led non-profit organization that makes mental health support available to young people internationally and aspires to deliver mental health programming for the most vulnerable youth communities across the Asia-Pacific region including Fiji, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore.
