WHAT: We are looking to find recent Concord alumni to tell our current 6.2 students about the emotional/social experience of going to university. Life from the perspective of an international student in a British university!
WHEN: 23rd January 2017
TIME: 4.30pm-5.30pm
WHERE: Concord College
EXPENSES: We will pay for your travel
IF YOU THINK YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP either by attending in person OR via Skype OR for future events similar to these click 'I'd like to attend' then choose your option and we will be in touch.
THE DETAIL: As many of you already know...the 6.2 PSHE programme aims to prepare Concord students for the emotional challenges you will meet at University but lets face it...its been a long time since most of the staff at Concord were at University so we thought why not ask you to share you real life experiences! We want you to be honest with our students...be prepared to share all the 'bad' stuff as well as the 'good'. e.g. spell of loneliness etc.
The event we are running will take the format of of an informal Q&A session (we will help with the session and give you guidance). We want you to chat with our 6.2's about things like time management, the distractions you have had at University, the pastoral structure, how easy it is to make new friends and how the workload compares to Concord.
We think this is an great opportunity for you - our Alumni - to pass on some wisdom to our current students, who are far more likely to pay attention if it comes straight from the people who have been in their shoes!
Remember, we will pay for all your travel expenses and you are welcome to stay for dinner!
