Event description
Zen would love to see some Concord Alumni at her talk this Saturday at Lit Books.
Together with the dynamic duo behind the Two Book Nerds Talking (TBNT) podcast, we’re thrilled to be hosting Malaysian author Zen Cho at Lit Books this March! TBNT is a new podcast created by Diana Yeong (founder of the KL Book Appreciation Club) and Honey Ahmad, and produced by Renegade radio (www.rngdr.com).
Born and raised in Malaysia but currently residing in the UK, Zen Cho was joint winner of the Crawford Award for her short story collection Spirits Abroad (Buku Fixi, 2014) and winner of the British Fantasy Award for Best Newcomer for her historical fantasy novel, Sorcerer to the Crown (Ace/Macmillan, 2015). Sorcerer to the Crown appeared in 2015's best books lists including Library Journal, ALA, Barnes & Noble, NPR, io9, Tor.com, BookRiot and the Seattle Times, and was selected for the 2017 Amelia Bloomer List of notable feminist literature for young people. A follow-up, The True Queen, is due out in March 2019.
Diana and Honey will be talking with Zen about her writing and what to expect in her upcoming novel. Zen will also be available to sign your copies of her novels. (Spirits Abroad and Sorcerer to the Crown will be available for purchase.)
