Abbi Ford, 20, was at Concord College between 2009-2014 and has spent her summer at Concord as a pastoral assistant at Concord College’s summer courses which means she looks after the interests of the younger ‘cub’ students in the day, and girls of all ages at night.

Although she only lives at nearby Cardington, she currently spends her nights in the accommodation block occupied by some of Concord’s foreign female students and is on call should they need help.

It’s quite a rapid return to the college for Abbigael who began her studies at Concord at the age of 13 in 2009 and left in 2014 with English A level A* as well as Spanish, History and Art and an English Literature Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).  She also gained 10 GCSE A*.

On leaving Concord College two years ago Abbigael then spent four months in Spain undertaking a language course and then had six months in China teaching English to primary and high school students.

She has just completed her first year at Durham University where she is reading English Literature with a view to becoming a teacher.

“On completion of my course at Durham University, it would be a dream to return to Concord College to teach,” she added.
